Andrew Miller wins Award of Excellence

2014 Apr 14

Andrew Miller of Joice, Iowa, is one of the five Dordt College digital media students who earned the Award of Excellence in the category of Student Production from the Iowa Motion Picture Association (IMPA). Miller is a senior majoring in digital media production.

The psychological thriller, “Brooklyn Shae,” tells the story of a college student stuck on campus alone during a break. A kidnapping frames the story about loneliness and how easily people seem to slip through the cracks.

“It shows the hurt and trauma that loneliness can create,” said the script writer and Dordt College senior, Justin Gloudemans (Big Lake, Minnesota), who says his own experiences contributed to creating the film’s theme.

Dordt College digital media production students consistently create memorable and quality films that have won awards, including the Award of Excellence by Videography Awards and Indie Fest, a Gold MarCom, a Silver Telly, and more.
