Anna Den Herder named an officer in Dordt College Ag Club

Anna Den Herder of Sioux Center, Iowa, was elected to the office of reporter of the Ag Club at Dordt College. Den Herder is a freshman majoring in agriculture with an emphasis in agri-business.

The group is responsible for planning and assisting with numerous campus activities that promote agriculture, including Ag Day at Dordt College and Department Field Days. In addition to judging Future Farmers of America (FFA) events and serving as leaders in regional agriculture programs, several members of the club also compete at regional and national ag competitions, including the Post-Secondary Agriculture Students (PAS) Conference.

One of only a handful of Christian Colleges in North America to offer a four-year agriculture program, Dordt College’s ag program has earned a reputation of excellence and garnered numerous awards in agriculture competitions, including the annual regional Post-Secondary Agriculture Students contest.

The number of agriculture-related job opportunities is growing, and Dordt students have entered careers not only in farming and technical service support but also in government, finance, and third-world development.
