Bosma To Join Defenders

2017 Mar 16

Connor Bosma, a senior at Lighthouse Christian (Idaho), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender football program.

Connor Bosma is listed 6-2, 185 pounds. He passed for 175 yards and ran for 90 yards per game and accounted for 4.5 touchdowns per game. Bosma was a second-team 2016 Sawtooth Conference honoree at linebacker and was a second-team pick at quarterback in 2015. Lighthouse Christian claimed a 1A Division 2 Football State Championship in 2014 and a third place finish in 2015. Bosma has played quarterback, tight end, linebacker and safety during his career.

"Connor will be an excellent addition to our roster. He was an excellent quarterback in high school and we have considered that role for him here as well. However, he will start his career most likely on defense as a safety. He brings tremendous athleticism and character to our fast-improving secondary," said Dordt College coach Joel Penner.

Connor is the son of Michael and Rachel Bosma of Kimberly, Idaho. He plans to study Business at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
