Derek Friend leads worship on Traveling Praise team for Dordt College.

Derek Friend is one of 28 students leading worship on Dordt College's campus this year. Friend is a junior studying Computer Science with an emphasis in System Administration. He also has a minor in Mathematics. He plays the auxilary for the Traveling Praise team.

There are five different ministries teams for Dordt College this school year. A team for Chapel (Wednesdays), GIFT (Sundays), Praise and Worship (Thursdays), and the Traveling Praise Team (performing at churches on Sunday mornings).

Each team consists of five to eight members, with one or two student leaders. Team leaders run rehearsals and make decisions about song choice and song arrangements. Teams are typically include acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, piano, auxiliary, and vocals.
