Derek Friend was selected to be a part of Dordt College's Chamber Orchestra

Derek Friend from Sioux Center, Iowa, has been selected to play viola in the Dordt College Chamber Orchestra. Friend is a junior majoring in Computer Science with an emphasis in System Administration. He also has a minor in Mathematics.

Three of Dordt's instrumental groups include:

• Chamber Orchestra
• Concert Band
• Campus-Community Band

The bands and orchestras are directed by Dr. Bradley Miedema.
