Hannah Ver Meer received pin at Dordt College nurses pinning ceremony

The nursing department at Dordt College held its spring pinning ceremony Thursday, May 7, when 16 bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) students were awarded a unique Dordt nursing pin. Hannah Ver Meer of Leighton, Iowa, received the special pin at the ceremony.

The keynote address was given by Olivia (Wielenga) Chapman, RN, Dordt College class of 2012. Chapman is the diabetic educator at Orange City Area Health System.

All of these students previously earned their associate of science in nursing degrees through a consortium agreement with St Luke's College in Sioux City, Iowa. Dordt's unique nursing program is designed so that students typically become registered nurses in their third year. These graduates completed a fourth year at Dordt to earn their BSN.
