Ivory Niewenhuis to give organ recital at Dordt College

Dordt College senior Ivory Niewenhuis of Corsica, South Dakota, will present an organ recital in the college's B.J. Haan Auditorium on Friday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. A reception will follow in the lobby.

From ornamented French classical music to Bach's famous baroque-style Prelude and Fugue in A Minor, the program will showcase the diverse and powerful sounds of the Dordt organ. Contrasting themes will weave between the toccata and adagio sections of Franck's Chorale No. 3 in A Minor, with a finale that uses the full organ.

Niewenhuis has studied organ with Matthew Geerling from 2011 to 2015.
