Janie Hoezee Shares Psychology Research with Dordt College Community

2011 Nov 30

How does exercise affect our willingness to help others? What do people really think about bullying? These are some of the questions psychology students have researched in preparation for the 15th annual Dordt College Psychology Student Research Conference. Presentations from three groups of students will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 3:30 p.m. in the Campus Center's Eckardt Lounge.

Janie Hoezee of Coopersville, Mich., along with two fellow Dordt students, studied the effect of exercise on mood and helping behavior. They conducted their study with Dordt students in the campus Rec Center.

The presenters all designed original experiments, collected and analyzed data, and compiled their findings. "All of the projects have some significant results, so it should be an exciting conference for all who attend," said Ryan Brunner, assistant professor of psychology.
