Luke Venhuizen participated in Dordt College theatre production

Luke Venhuizen of Munster, Indiana, participated in the Dordt College theatre production of Much Ado About Nothing as part of the crew. Venhuizen is a senior majoring in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations. He also has a minor in Journalism. He was the Marketer.

Much Ado About Nothing is a Shakespearean classic that is driven solely on deception in order to break apart one romantic couple out of jealousy and bring together two stubborn people in marriage. However, along the way there is much miscommunication, confusion, and lying that creates a twisted path to the inevitable conclusion of confessions and a marriage.

Dordt's adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing brings in a new take on a classic comedy by setting it in 1950s Hawaii while still using the original language of the show. Fifty-eight students worked on this show, which ran two weekends with six performances. The show opened October 13 and closed October 22.

Dordt College's active theatre program serves the community with two fully mounted main stage shows each year, as well as numerous smaller student-directed or classroom-based projects.
