Luke Venhuizen participated in the Dordt College theatre arts production of Godspell as part of the Crew. Venhuizen is a junior majoring in Communication emphasis in Public Relation. He also has a minor in Journalism. He was the Marketing Designer for Godspell.

Godspell is a musical that tells the story of The Gospel of Matthew set in a modern day, urban setting. Each of the cast members stay on stage throughout the entirety of the show, acting out and telling the many parables of Jesus.

The musical about community and discipleship was conceived and directed by John Michael Tebelak, and music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Godspell opened originally on Broadway in 1971 with the now classic hit Day by Day reaching #13 on the Billboard pop singles chart. Godspell recently had its first Broadway revival in 2011 with updated versions of the song bringing in a modern feel to the classic show.
