Mark Mouw named an officer in Dordt College Pre-vet Club

2014 Mar 21

Mark Mouw of Rock Valley, Iowa, was elected to the office of president of the Pre-vet Club at Dordt College. Mouw is a junior majoring in agriculture with an emphasis in animal science.

The Pre-Vet Club allows students to network and shadow practicing veterinarians and get behind the scenes access to the Omaha Zoo. In addition to meeting monthly and hearing from invited speakers from the field, the club helps the Iowa Veterinary Rapid Response Team conduct a foreign animal disease workshop.

“Dordt offers a well-respected pre-vet program in the heart of a diverse agricultural region,” says Dr. Duane Bajema, pre-veterinary program advisor. “That gives you many opportunities to grow and develop professionally.”

Dordt pre-veterinary graduates have earned the respect of faculty in schools across the U.S. and Canada. They include Iowa State University, the University of Minnesota, the University of Wisconsin, and Kansas State University, where nearly 100 percent of those who complete our program and apply are accepted.

The Sioux Center, Iowa, college is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. U.S. News & World Report, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
