Norris To Attend Dordt

Isaac Norris has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender basketball program.

Norris, a 6-0, 195 pound guard, competed for North Iowa Christian School and averaged 17.7 points per game with 8.9 rebounds, two assists and 2.1 steals per contest while converting 55 percent of his field goals and 38 percent of his three-point attempts. He was selected his team's mvp at the conclusion of his senior year and was the offensive mvp as a junior. Norris helped his team to a 15-5 record in 2016-17.

"We are glad Isaac has decided to be a part of the Dordt College community and our basketball program. Isaac is an athletic player who has a great deal of potential. His best days are still in front of him and we look forward to seeing him develop in a Defender uniform. In addition to his basketball abilities, Isaac possesses a great deal character and integrity and will significantly impact our campus for the next four years," said Dordt College basketball coach Ross Douma.

Isaac is the son of Sarah Swanson of Mason City, Iowa. He plans to study Youth Ministry or Education at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
